Care Assistant (also referred to as a Support Worker)

You are

  • Caring, patient, respectful, honest and empathetic.

  • Extremely observant.

  • Someone who is able to solve problems and has the ability to think creatively.

  • Someone who is able to respond to challenges and works well under pressure.

  • A good communicator.

Some duties include

  • To provide personal care and support with clients with a wide range of need, illness and disabilities.

  • To undertake the tasks detailed in the clients care and support plan.

  • To encourage independence of the client and not promote dependent behaviour.

  • To assist client going to bed at night and getting up in the morning.

  • To assist client to wash, bath and shower.

Qualifications and Experience 

  • NVQ2 or 3 Health and Social care. (Essential)

  • Practical experience in similar position.(Essential)

  • Understanding of key legislation. (Essential)

  • Basic IT skills. (Essential) 

  • Driving licence preferred. (Desirable)
